Introduction

Hi! Thank you for visiting my decan crossing blog. My name is Lo, and I read tarot and write about it on the internet. This year, I've dedicated myself to writing one short story during the Sun's journey through every 10 degrees of each astrological zodiac sign, beginning with the Sun's ingress into tropical Aries on March 20, 2022. I have also committed to sharing each story on this blog once I've finished writing them. 

A decan is a distinct 10-degree division of one sign of the zodiac. In occult tradition, a decan walk is an astrology-centered process during which a person does something meaningful to acknowledge, in their own way, each decan of the zodiacal year. (I am choosing to call this personal project a decan crossing instead of a decan walk.)

Both my relationship to the decans and my storytelling practice for this project are rooted in tarot and astrology correspondences. (So that one story I write will hopefully be a love letter to Taurus, the element of Earth, the Moon, and some things that I notice in the world around me between April 30 and May 10.) If you would like to follow along with the stories as they emerge in rhythm with the decanic calendar, and/or use the information to support your own decan walk/crossing, you can check out the below table of dates[*] and correspondences with which I've set out to honor, in one particular way, the turning of the year.

I will likely post stories a little after their decan has concluded, if not right at the end of the 10-11 day period. Probably never before then. I'm a super-good procrastinator.
